If what you do doesn’t appear to make a difference then perhaps it doesn’t.

Even though most Christians do not often use the Bible to justify owning slaves or having racist beliefs they do often use it to be justify being prejudiced towards homosexuals. These same beliefs we will put down as ridiculous when taken from the KKK or Nazis but whenever it’s from religious texts we have respect for them, why?
There’s a bit of a gap between the statement that the Universe must come from somewhere and the statement that the traditions of my faith are correct and I’ll be going to heaven. If you want to say that you believe just because you believe, that’s one thing. But if you then turn around and try to ground it in some rational argument, you create a gap that you can’t mend.

The confusion on what an agnostic really is does get under my skin sometimes. Agnosticism applies to knowledge while theism applies to belief. It’s as simple as that.
